Role Overview
Design resilient backend microservices, high-volume transactional databases, and scalable REST/gRPC APIs powering enterprise workflows and automation pipelines.
As a Backend Engineer at WorkSaar, you will architect the backbone of our platforms. From schema design to caching layers, webhook ingestions, queue consumers, and authentication protocols, you will build systems that handle millions of requests with sub-100ms latencies.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend APIs using Node.js (Express/NestJS) or Python (FastAPI).
- Model relational and document database schemas (PostgreSQL, MongoDB), create migrations, and tune indexing.
- Build asynchronous task processing pipelines using Redis, BullMQ, or Celery.
- Implement robust authentication, role-based access control (RBAC), rate-limiting, and encryption.
- Write comprehensive automated unit and integration tests with Jest, Supertest, or PyTest.
- Monitor application logs, error metrics, and database query performance using APM tools.
Technical Requirements (Core Skills)
- 1 to 3 years of hands-on backend software engineering experience in Node.js or Python.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, relational data modeling, query optimization, and transactions in PostgreSQL.
- Deep understanding of REST API principles, status codes, payload validation, and idempotency.
- Experience working with Redis for caching, pub/sub, or rate-limiting.
- Familiarity with Git, Linux command line, Docker containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong problem-solving instincts and understanding of basic data structures and algorithms.
Good to Have (Preferred)
- Experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, SQS, Lambda).
- Hands-on experience with WebSockets, gRPC, or GraphQL APIs.
- Experience handling payments, webhook retries, and high-concurrency workloads.
